The people in Comoros are called Comorians. They are strong followers of Islam with over 98% of the inhabitants being Sunni Muslims. They also value music and other performance arts such as pottery, sculpture, embroidery, and basketry. Comorians are have some diversity in their languages; using four languages in common speak - Swahili, French, Comorian, and Arabic. Celebrations in the Comorian customs often include dancing, music, and re-creation of important texts such as war epics and tales of different villages. The dominant religion in Comoros is Islam, it affects the roots and traditions of Comorians very deeply. A lot of customary traditions in Comoros is based around the religion, Islam. Locals in Comoros are generally tolerant of outside culture, but they still believe in that customs should be respected. A minority of Comorians are Roman Catholic. Alcohol in Comoros is not banned, but people should not drink large amounts and make a big deal out of it. |
